Job Summary

The Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Technician is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of health, safety, and environmental programs within the organization. This role ensures compliance with environmental regulations, workplace safety standards, and promotes a safe and healthy work environment. The EH&S Technician conducts regular inspections, risk assessments, and provides training to employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and regulatory compliance. They also assist in incident investigations, report findings, and work on corrective actions to minimize environmental and safety hazards.

Job Description

1. General Safety



  • Implementation of detailed, task level, day to day EH&S programs, utilizing EH&S work process, standards, and procedures,

  • Completion of compliance tasks

  • Coordination of safety and housekeeping inspections for areas under EH&S.

  • Participation in daily meetings to ensure EHS requirements to critical/high risk activities are comm

  • Execution of EH&S observations and compliance check on SWP/project activities.

  • Execution of periodic IH monitoring and ventilation sampling.

  • Execution of periodic safety equipment inspections, including validation if all gaps on the previous inspections are addressed.

  • Maintenance of inventory and issuance of PPEs .

  • Issuance of Safe Work Permit to activities at EH&S -owned areas.

  • Audit implementation of EH&S programs.


2. Environment



  • Sampling requirements process (i.e., effluent, emissions, etc.)

  • Weekly waste inventory process

  • Waste pad activities (i.e., segregation/compatibility, housekeeping)


3. Health



  • Custody and safekeeping of health assessment results, accomplished health questionnaires, other documentations in the clinic cabinet (i.e., organizing, filing)


4. ES&S



  • ES&S activities review and escalation of abnormalities (i.e., security reports, CCTV concerns, adherence to ES&S procedure, drills, etc. )

  • Execution of emergency equipment inspection (i.e., fire extinguisher, SCBA, exit/emergency lights, etc.)

  • Delivery of training on emergency procedures, use of emergency equipment (i.e., SCBA, fire extinguisher, etc.)

  • Participation in IR drills to validate adherence to emergency procedures,

  • Grass and tree control


5. Training



  • Delivery of EHS/LCS trainings to contractors.
